Summary

The story begins in the present era  where Professor PHILIP ANDERSON, an American Archeologist and explorer settled in India is personally vested in researching various mysteries and legends of the country connected with ancient mythology covering aspects like a thriving city under water to Immortal Gods which are said to be roaming in the Himalayas.

The Professor is haunted by visions of  a ship called “VIJLI” which beckons him to research further into it.  Upon investigation, he realizes that VIJLI  was a steamship built in 1888 in British India and was known for its electrifying speed and hence it was given the name “VIJLI”- which meant travelling at the speed of light! It was on 8th November 1888 that VIJLI took its maiden voyage from Mandvi to Mumbai but as destiny would have it, it was hit by a storm and disappeared from the face of earth at 2am near Porbandar, Gujarat.

Various folktales and myths surround this ship and its captain- HAJI KASAM but till date what happened to the ship remains a mystery as no wreckage of the ship nor any bodies of the 750 passengers and crew were ever found! What is more confounding is that even in today’s day and age seafarers still confirm to the sightings of VIJLI near the place that it disappeared.

Parallelly a famous British Author and Physicist, CHRISTINA following emails from a mysterious sender also arrives in India with a hidden agenda to explore this folklore of “VIJLI”.

As the Professor and Christina cross paths in the colorful land of Kutch in India, they learn further details of the exact location from where “VIJLI” disappeared and where it reappears every year on the date of its sinking. On 8th November 2025, Professor and his team along with Christina   wait on that same location deep in the middle of the ocean. It is night-time and heavy fog engulfs the sea and all of a sudden without warning, the Legend comes to Life as they see VIJLI in all its glory appearing before them! As everyone boards the ship, they find themselves in a different time-space altogether and are transported back to 1888.

Now an Intrepid Archaeologist and British Physicist try to solve the riddle of this Legend but are not prepared for the encounter that awaits them. Is this just a simple case of a shipwrecked by a storm or could this truly be the Indian Bermuda Triangle?

1-Would Professor Anderson, his team, and Christina drown along with this ancient event?

2-Would they survive and find their way back to 2025?

3- Would the mystery of what really happened to VIJLI reveal itself to them?

4- What was the reason that Destiny chose them for this incident?

The story explores those answers as it unlocks the mystery behind the sinking of “VIJLI” and why it keeps reappearing again and again!
